Shannon M. Mazur

God and family are very important in my life!  I was born in Seymour, IN but spent most of my life in Chicago, IL.  I returned to Indiana in 1996.  I graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service with honors in March of 2012, and am a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for both Indiana and Kentucky.  I have worked in funeral service since 2010.  Prior to this, I served as a paramedic for 13 years.
I joined the Owen staff in September of 2014.  The opportunity to help and serve families in their most difficult time is very rewarding.  If I can ease someone’s pain for just a moment, and make this process a little easier for them, I have succeeded!  I treat every family with the upmost respect and dignity at all times, and am very excited to be a part of the Owen Funeral Home staff.
I am newly married to Richard Scroggins and have three beautiful children: Hailee, Devin, and Alexis and a lovely granddaughter, Quinnlee.
In my youth, I was a competitive skater with Olympic aspirations.  I began dance at age three and began competitive skating at age 12.  I was fortunate to skate in numerous competitions where I received Gold and Silver Medals.   While my life has turned in a different direction, I still enjoy sharing my passion for the ice with my daughters as we skate for fun.

At this juncture in my life, I am pleased to be on staff at Owen Funeral Home. Funeral service has been in my heart since I was a child.  God brought me to this profession and I intend to serve him well.
